儿子在回上海的路上

发来微信

叮嘱我

去年他在龙华寺

给我求的本命年红手绳

要化掉

化有几种方式：

焚烧，挂起来，保存，随水漂流

我选择挂起来

我把红手绳挂在了楼下

桃树枝上

希望它化作桃花

On his way back to Shanghai,

My son sent me a WeChat message,

reminding me

to “dissolve ”the red bracelet

he prayed for me at Longhua Temple

during my zodiac year.

There are several ways to dissolve

Burn it, hang it up, take off but keep it,

or, let it drift away with water.

I chose to hang it up.

I tied the red bracelet

To a branch of the peach tree downstairs,

Hoping it would transform

into peach blossoms.
